You look but don't see… You listen but don't hear...
It's a trick, cause it's like magic and it requires skills
Vuka is a call to arms.
An awakening: to wake up, to take notice of what’s around us…
Echoing archive of our planet’s past or tantalising lesson for a future yet to be told, this performance journey round a museum at dusk asks us to wake up to how we tell our global story, and the lessons we need to learn.
A site specific, promenade piece focusing on climate, colonisation and the role of the museum in 20 years time.
Performed at 6.30pm, 7,30pm, 8.30pm and 9.30pm
Led by Yandass Ndlovu, I M PACT is a community of dancers joined by their passion for supporting, creating and experimenting in the underground world of freestyle dance. I M Pact dance collective was created over lockdown to showcase Manchester dance talent through creative responses to site and venues.
This is part of a weekend of events to celebrate the next stage of hello future, the museum’s ambitious transformation project.
The museum’s doors will temporarily close its doors to the public from 29 August until late 2022, so construction work can take place.
