  role of copresence\, understood as a sense of mutual awareness that can
  and needs to be organized in both physical and virtual settings\, in co
 llaborative creative processes. We present insights from a comparative a
 nalysis of two ethnographies conduced in temporary spaces designed for c
 reative collaboration\, an online platform for collaborative songwriting
  and a songwriting camp for professional popular music songwriters. Our 
 findings shift attention away from the spatial properties of these setti
 ngs towards practices of generating and directing nimbus - a form of per
 ceptibility - and focus as a basis for creative interaction. They also s
 hed light on the role of lingering as a background practice that needs t
 o be specifically facilitated by more than just the provision of an infr
 astructure for meeting and hanging out. Our analysis reveals that instea
 d of seeing the physical world as a model for the design of virtual spac
 es\, we can gain important insights about how moments of collective crea
 tivity occur in phyiscal spaces by analyzing how such interactions are f
 ostered in virtual settings. \n\nElke Schüßler is Professor of Business 
 Administration and Head of the Institute of Organization Science at Joha
 nnes Kepler University Linz. Before she was Assistant Professor of Organ
 ization Theory at Freie Universität Berlin. Her current research revolve
 s around questions of sustainable organizing\, particularly regarding la
 bor and environmental standards\, as well as around the organization of 
 creative work and innovation. A new research focus is the emergence of t
 he platform economy and its implications for labor\, markets and society
