DESCRIPTION:Since 1999\, the Legal Advice Centre (LAC) at the University 
 of \nManchester has been providing free legal advice to those in need. O
 n \nthis 20th anniversary year\, we are proud to launch The Justice Hub 
 at \nour new home at Waterloo Place. The Justice Hub brings together the
  \nLAC and our other flagship social responsibility projects dedicated t
 o \nsocial justice. These include the Miscarriages of Justice Review Cen
 tre\, \nLegaltech and Access to Justice\, the Dementia Law Clinic and ma
 ny \nother innovative projects.\n\nThe evening will begin with a short t
 alk from Lemn Sissay MBE\, author\, \npoet and Chancellor of the Univers
 ity of Manchester. After Lemn’s talk \nthere will be the chance to hear 
 from students past and present about \ntheir experiences of volunteering
  with the Hub\, followed by a free \ndrinks reception.\n\nThe Justice Hu
 b is dedicated to improving access to justice to the \nvulnerable\, marg
 inalised and disadvantaged. Its aim is to educate \nstudents to be holis
 tic\, autonomous and reflective thinkers of the \nfuture with a strong s
 ense of values\, ethics and civic engagement.\n\nOur student volunteers\
 , volunteer lawyers\, service users and staff are \nall vital to the suc
 cess of the Hub\, and we look forward to celebrating \nthe launch with y
 ou.
