DESCRIPTION:Teachers can arrange for their post-16 students to visit The 
 University of Manchester campus to support them with the Extended Projec
 t qualification for their students.\n\nTo help manage the number of visi
 t requests we receive\, we have scheduled dates throughout the year wher
 e teachers can bring groups of students onto campus. These visits can in
 clude a research skills workshop\, or a library visit - or both. We try 
 to accommodate the requests we receive\, but this is not always possible
 \, particularly at busy times of the year.\n\nOur research skills worksh
 op is led by staff and postgraduate students from our University. The wo
 rkshop introduces students to academic research through a series of inte
 ractive activities and group work.\nThis session adopts a step-by-step a
 pproach\, providing tips and advice so that students can conduct effecti
 ve research into their chosen subject. We encourage students to think ab
 out the range of sources they can access and how to assess their usefuln
 ess through critical examination. We also discuss the importance of note
 -taking. \nThe workshop is two hours long and runs from 10am to 12pm\, o
 r 1pm to 3pm.\n\nOur library session is led by University of Manchester 
 Library staff\, and gives students an introduction to locating materials
  – both books and online resources – for their assignments. Afterwards\,
  students have independent research time where they can make use of the 
 extensive resources our library has to offer.\nWhen you request a librar
