DESCRIPTION:This paper reflects on Dr Sahra Taylor's recent experience re
designing the module Introduction to Political Theory. She draws on the
'art of teaching' approaches to the structure\, theme\, and style to the
reconstruction of a 1st year introduction module. It also considers the
wider argument of what it means to teach in a decolonial way\, and argu
es for a multiplicity of approaches that are necessarily fragmentary\, p
olyvocal\, and contradictory\, and thus 'structurally' accommodating of
multiplicity and plurality. Finally\, it reflects on the political\, soc
ial\, and educational ramifications of the modular university degree str
ucture\, founded on the 'science of pedagogy'\, and its close relationsh
ip to colonial norms.\n\nThis event will be delivered over Zoom. An Even
tbrite link will be posted here in the coming weeks where you can regist
er to receive the Zoom details.
