 nd neither are Muslims. Join us to hear from the author about how psycho
 logical theories and practices serve state interests and perpetuate ineq
 uality?especially racism and Islamophobia.\n\nThis event is a collaborat
 ion between the Centre on the Dynamics of Ethnicity (CoDE)\, the Our Sha
 red Cultural Heritage (OSCH) Radical Readers\, and the Manchester Instit
 ute of Education’s Anti-Racist Teaching Network.\n\nBio: Dr Tarek Younis
  is a Senior Lecturer in Psychology at Middlesex University. He research
 es and writes on Islamophobia\, racism in mental health\, the securitisa
 tion of clinical settings and the politics of psychology. He teaches on 
 the impact of culture\, religion\, globalisation\, and security policies
  on mental health. As a registered clinical psychologist\, he primarily 
 attends to experiences of racism\, Islamophobia\, and state violence in 
 his private practice. His book is called The Muslim\, State and Mind: Ps
 ychology in Times of Islamophobia.
