DESCRIPTION:Let us take you on a journey\, from the depths of Hell to the
  heights of Heaven. \n\nIvor Novello nominated sound artist Sophie Coope
 r brings to life the world of the medieval Italian poet Dante as we acco
 mpany him on his travels through the realms of the Divine Comedy. Cooper
  has interpreted Dante’s depictions of Hell\, Purgatory and Paradise usi
 ng electroacoustic and multi-channel methods which bring together field 
 recordings\, choral singing and new composition\, drawing on the physica
 l space of the Rylands for a site-specific immersion of sound.  \n\nDrop
  in to experience this unique installation which has been commissioned t
 o mark the 700th anniversary of Dante’s death in 2021\, and which accomp
 anies the Designing Dante exhibition currently on in the Library. \n\nMo
 re about Sophie Cooper: \n\nSophie Cooper is a sound artist who Huddersf
 ield Contemporary Music Festival (hcmf//) describe as ‘A crucial member 
 of Yorkshire’s far-reaching experimental music scene’. Cooper’s practice
