DESCRIPTION:The Department of Classics & Ancient History runs a regular r
 esearch seminar\, which meets weekly during term time throughout the aca
 demic year. Papers are given by local speakers (including advanced PhD s
 tudents)\, and by invited speakers from within and beyond the United Kin
 gdom.  The seminar regularly attracts an audience of around 40 people\, 
 from Manchester and other universities in the area. Visitors are very we
 lcome.\n\nSeminars take place in Samuel Alexander Building\, S2.9\, Thur
 sday 4.55pm. Everyone is invited to join the speaker for drinks and dinn
 er at a local restaurant after the paper.\n\nIf you are coming from outs
