Join Angie McCarthy and Tony Richards from the John Rylands Research Institute and Library Imaging Team as they explore how portrait photographic jewellery has always been a sentimental favourite, a place to hold memories of loved ones, kept close to the heart or simply held in the palm of a hand.
They will discuss items from the newly created Photographic Jewellery Manchester Digital Collection and consider the life cycle of the object and ask how a face from the past can still intrigue and connect with us today.
This online Free event will include a 30 minute talk followed by 15-minute Q&A. The talk will take place on Zoom, and the link will be sent the morning of the event.
