Carer Café – be part of national Carer’s Week at the University of Manchester!
Staff and colleagues from the Cancer, Supportive and Palliative Research Group (SUPAC) based at the School of Nursing, Midwifery and Social Work, are hosting a Carer Café information sharing event on Monday 6th June 2016 as part of the national Carers Week programme of events.
The event will run from 12-3pm and be held in room G.306B in Jean McFarlane building.
This series of drop-in sessions includes:
• 12-12.30pm/2-3pm: tea and biscuits, charity cake sale (proceeds to Manchester Carers forum/Bury Carers Centre) and a carers information stand including information on local services/sources of support for carers.
• 12.30pm-1pm: Greg Pass from Human Resources will be giving a talk on what policies are in place within the University to help staff members who are carers themselves.
• 1-2pm: series of short talks including personal experiences and an overview of work from around the University that has been conducted with carers.
Please register at: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/carer-cafe-information-sharing-event-tickets-25667067891 if you will be attending any of the talks (either 12.30pm or 1pm-2pm or both)
Join us in an informal atmosphere to build a stronger carer community here at the University!
