DESCRIPTION:This online discussion event explores how fashion activists -
  from social entrepreneurs and independent designer-makers\, to communit
 y arts organisations and academic researchers - are working to rethink t
 he fashion system from the ground up. \n\nWe introduce Activist Creative
 s\, a new project bringing together artists\, activists and researchers 
 in West Yorkshire\, Manchester and Oslo investigating the potential of a
 lternative\, pro-environmental fashion activism. The event features spea
 kers from Manchester Fashion Movement\, The Design Studio\, Stitched Up\
 , WOVEN and Thread Republic\, who are raising awareness about the damagi
 ng effects of clothing consumption and waste on people and planet and in
 spiring communities to take action on sustainable fashion. \n\nAcademics
  from Oslo Metropolitan University\, Manchester Metropolitan University\
 , and University of Bradford will also share their research into the rel
