Telling Tales - Manchester Science Festival 2015 exhibition
Host: School of Psychological Sciences
About the event:
Telling Tales is a collaboration between members of the Language Development and Disorders Research Group, School of Psychological Sciences, Faculty of Medical and Human Sciences, and Dr Jenna C. Ashton (arts researcher, writer, curator, School of Arts, Languages and Cultures, The University of Manchester).
Social communication disorder impacts on the lives of many children and young people. This exhibition aims to raise awareness by exploring the relationship between language, storytelling, identity and creativity. It also examines the role of art engagement in healthcare science, stemming from interactions and conversations between young people, carers, therapists and artists in a research project conducted by the University of Manchester and supported by the Wellcome Trust.
The exhibition will run from the 19 October to 19 November (Central Library, floor 1, left-side).
