Research Computing / IT Services present Hyperspectral imaging: needs for real time processing

Speaker: Amer Alroichdi, Mapping Solutions Ltd.

Further details: Hyperspectral imaging systems have been increasingly in demand. The overall advantage of using hyperspectral data over digital photography and multispectral data is that it doesn't only go beyond the visible range, but also it provide continuous narrow bands that are capable of determining the physical and chemical composition of any pixel in the scene.

However, due to the large amount of data produced during acquisition the lack of real time imaging processing is still a problematic issue. In addition, more algorithms need to be developed for target detection and monitoring. www.mapping-solutions.co.uk
