About the event:
Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTP) is Europe’s leading funding programme helping businesses to improve their competitiveness and productivity through better use of the expertise and technology that reside within the UK knowledge base.
KTP provides academics with the unique opportunity to apply the outcomes of their research to real world business projects, whilst also supporting the development of relevant teaching and research alongside high quality journal and conference publications.
They are typically a 1-3 year partnership between academia, industry and a recently graduated associate. Participating in a KTP can:
- Apply knowledge and expertise to important problems facing organisations
- Develop relevant teaching and Research
- Contribute to the Research Excellence Framework exercise (REF)
- Identify new research themes and undergraduate and post-graduate projects
- Publish high quality journal and conference papers
- Gain an improved understanding of organisational requirements and operations
- Lead rewarding and ongoing collaboration with innovative organisations
- Assist strategic change
At the workshop you will learn more about using KTPs as a method to engage with industry and develop successful partnerships. We will be joined by Fiona Nightingale, KTP Adviser at Innovate UK (Technology Strategy Board). There will also be opportunity to hear about a successful KTP project within MHS and meet with colleagues from the Business Engagement Team to discuss how we can support you.
