of Polygons\n\nAbstract: Coxeter groups are a family of groups with a ri
ch\, combinatorial theory. Each group is equipped with a set of canonica
l generators and understanding how to express each element as a minimal
product of these generators (so-called 'reduced words') plays an importa
nt role in the literature. \n\nIn 1993\, Elnitsky examined three Coxeter
groups and constructed elegant bijections between classes of their redu
ced words and certain tilings of polygons. We'll examine these bijection
s and ask the question: Why just three - can we find tilings for all Cox
eter Groups? Finally\, I'll present some recent joint-work (with Prof Pe
ter Rowley) attempting to answer this question. \n\n\nPlace: Frank Adams
