ith outlining the formalism of perturbative algebraic quantum field theo
ry\, which has been successfully applied in quantisation of gauge theori
es. Then I will explain how it can be generalized to situations where a
boundary is present\, including the case of an asymptotic "boundary at i
nfinity." The framework that I will present involves a subtle interplay
of concepts from homological algebra (in the form of the BV formalism) a
nd functional analysis\, as one has to deal with infinite dimensional to
pological vector spaces.
