DESCRIPTION:This is a monthly meeting of the Mapping/GIS Innovation Club.
  \n\nInnovation Spotlight: Dr Matt Dennis will be talking to us about th
 e CASTOR (Creative Adaptive Solutions for Treescapes of Rivers) project.
 \n\nThe purpose of Mapping/GIS club activity is to allow UoM researchers
  to:\n\n- Present their research and discuss sticking points that the co
 mmunity may be able to help them with\n- Find new collaboration partners
  from across the University\n- Ask questions within the community so tha
 t members can share experience/ideas to save time\n- Share ideas on fund
 ing calls that are relevant to the community\n- Share equipment (if free
 ) and resources\n- Discuss technology/methodology advances and provide a
 dvice on what to/not to buy\n- Advertise talks that may be of interest t
 o the community & widen participation across campus.\n\nClub Leads: Dr J
 onny Huck\n\nThe Innovation Clubs align closely with Digital Futures' ca
 pabilities themes and are targeted particularly at early career research
 ers. The Innovation Clubs help to build communities of practice around k
 ey digital research technologies and provide a forum for researchers to 
 share their knowledge\, experience and practical skills in these areas.\
 n\nThis activity is also part of wider IT club activity Computation and 
 Data in research (CaDiR).\n\n\nTo join the meetings\, please sign up via
