DESCRIPTION:Join us for this PSI seminar with guest speaker Professor Che
 nnupati Jagadish.\n\nSemiconductors have played an important role in the
  development of information and communications technology\, solar cells\
 , solid state lighting.  Nanowires are considered as building blocks for
  the next generation electronics and optoelectronics.  In this talk\, Pr
 ofessor Jagadish will introduce the importance of nanowires and their po
 tential applications and discuss about how these nanowires can be synthe
 sized and how the shape\, size and composition of the nanowires influenc
 e their structural and optical properties. He will present results on ax
 ial and radial heterostructures and how one can engineer the optical pro
 perties to obtain high performance lasers\, THz detectors\, solar cells 
 and to engineer neuronal networks. Future prospects of the semiconductor
  nanowires will be discussed. \n\nThis event will be taking place online
