DESCRIPTION:Join us for the Refugee Tales: Walking Inquiry Exhibition in
Manchester\, which brings together the voices and insights of people wit
h lived experience of immigration detention and Volunteer Visitors who p
rovide support to people in detention. The government set up the Public
Inquiry in response to a 2017 BBC Panorama programme that used undercove
r filming to reveal mistreatment at Brook House. This is the IRC where t
he charity\, the 'Gatwick Detainees Welfare Group'\, supports people who
are detained.\n\nThe project engaged a unique methodology\, building on
walking\, talking and sharing together\, they invited responses in many
  forms\, including testimony\, art\, letters\, video and poetry\; the co
ntributions shine a powerful light on the daily realities of immigration
detention\, and its complex and enduring impacts. Everywhere the exhibi
tion goes\, new voices will be added as we listen to each other and lear
n together about how immigration detention affects us all.
