DESCRIPTION:Join us for an informal lunch event exploring how creative pr
 actitioners and researchers can work together effectively.\n\nWhat are t
 he opportunities\, common ground and difficulties afforded to creative p
 ractitioners and researchers working together?  In this research café\, 
 three leading figures in their field will reflect on their experiences o
 f collaborative interdisciplinary creative work\, and how that experienc
 e has shaped their approaches to this work subsequently. \n\nHistorian\,
  Prof Anindita Ghosh has recently worked on recent Bangladeshi migration
  and music in the North-West (stemming from preliminary research on musi
 c\, migration and urban history in a nineteenth century colonial Indian 
 context). Her project involved working with a theatre group\, co-produci
 ng a play which ran in Oldham in summer 2022.  \n\nProf Liam Harte’s res
 earch on emigrant autobiography led him to develop a theatre project\, g
 rounded in the material uncovered by his research\, My English Tongue\, 
 My Irish Heart\, which toured the UK and Ireland. \n\nKeisha Thompson is
  a poet\, performer\, playwright and Director of Contact Theatre\, as we
 ll as Honorary Fellow at the University of Manchester. Her work for thea
 tre includes a project developed with BoxofTricks\, The Bell Curves\, wh
 ich draws on her collaboration with researchers into the human implicati
 ons of CRISPR-Cas 9 gene-hacking technology.
