DESCRIPTION:1-5.30pm in Piccadilly Gardens. \n\nFancy a family Halloween 
 celebration with a difference this year? Then come along to Piccadilly G
 ardens and be part of The Manchester Museum Mummy Walk. Featuring mummy 
 dance\, lantern and mask making workshops during the day\, the event wil
 l culminate in a twilight mummy walk and parade around Piccadilly Garden
 s. Coming in fancy dress is optional! With artist Sophie Tyrrell\, music
 ian Danny Henry\, Museum experts and short performances by Circus House.
 \n\nThe Museum has been working with CityCo and Piccadilly Partnership t
 o organise the event and as well as celebrating Halloween\, the event ma
 rks the centenary of the first Egypt gallery to be opened at the Museum 
 and the opening of the new Ancient Worlds galleries. These three new gal
 leries highlight our collections from Manchester and the region\, and fr
 om ancient civilizations such as Greece\, Rome and Egypt. They showcase 
 the best of our outstanding archaeology collections and reveal the peopl
 e behind the objects: who made them\, who used them\, who lost and re-di
 scovered them\, who collected\, classified and interpreted them.
