The Humanitarian and Conflict Response Institute (HCRI) Speaker Series is a regular student-focused forum that draws on the expertise of a range of academics, researchers and practitioners both within HCRI and more widely, covering a broad range of humanitarian-related issues and contexts. It is an opportunity to learn from and interact with scholars and practitioners in an informal and intimate environment in order to gain insights from people's own experiences.
Dr Bernard Manyena, Lecturer in Disaster Management at HCRI, will deliver his Speaker Series session on Tuesday 4 November 2014. Bernard is the Programme Director for the MA in International Disaster Management, and delivers modules on topics such as risk management, disaster management, water sanitation planning & policy in the developing world, and global health.
In this Speaker Series Bernard will be talking about his own experiences, his career path, research areas of interest, and links with the Association of Greater Manchester Authorities, Civil Contingencies and Resilience Unit.
The session will be an hour's talk by Dr Bernard Manyena, followed by an hour for questions from the intimate audience. This is a wonderful opportunity for students to engage with Bernard in an informal environment, and ask questions about his experiences and insights.
