It is projected to play a key role in decarbonisation of the UK's electricity, heat and trasport fuel sectors in future. This lecture will explain what bioenergy is, how it is developing in the UK and outline some of the bionergy research being progressed by leading Manchester academics that could transform the future of the UK energy system.
