The 'iconic' status of Darfur raises important questions for how local, regional, national and international forces intersect to produce knowledge about complex events. Assessments of the Darfur crisis have been used to demand humanitarian intervention, to defend inaction, to campaign for legal redress and to justify political, social and military interventions.
This seminar seeks, in a multi-disciplinary manner, to assess the assessments.
