This webinar is jointly organised by CeLSIUS and the UK Data Service as part of the ESRC-funded data resource's collaborative webinar series, ESRC data resources: discovering data and how to use it.
The session will explore journey to work data in the UK, focusing on data from the census, in particular the longitudinal studies, including:
Data available in the ONS Longitudinal Study, with examples of change over time
A comparison with the Northern Ireland Longitudinal Study and Scottish Longitudinal Study
An exploration of more detailed cross-sectional data from recent censuses
A summary of some other UK Data Service resources that also hold data about the journey to work

The webinar series is the result of a collaboration between a number of ESRC-funded resource centres working together to promote the value and use of social science data. The collaboration is made up of several organisations including: CeLSIUS, NILS_RSU, SLS-DSU, CLOSER, Understanding Society, the Centre for Longitudinal Studies (CLS), the UK Data Service, the National Centre for Research Methods (NCRM), and the three ESRC funded big data centres; the Urban Big Data Centre (UBDC), the ESRC Business and Local Government Data Research Centre (BLG) and Consumer Data Research Centre (CDRC).
