DESCRIPTION:(via Zoom)\nJoin us for this seminar by Laleh Haghverdi (Max
Delbruck) as part of the North West Seminar Series in Mathematical Biolo
gy and Data Sciences. Details of the full series can be found here https
 ://www.cms.livjm.ac.uk/APMSeminar/\n\nAbstract: Measuring gene activitie
s at the single cell level is important in studies where cell heterogene
ities are of particular interest rather than population averages. It is
intuitive to consider all biological processes originate from such singl
e-cell level heterogeneous responses and only in a collective response o
f several cells larger scale observable features arise. The reconstructi
on of cell lineage trajectories from single-cell RNA-seq data allows us
to resolve temporal expression dynamics of several genes from snapshot c
ollected data\, which are not accessible in time-laps experiments. The t
emporal order of gene activities in return\, can provide new insights in
to the gene regulatory networks governing cell differentiation. Does a s
napshot of cell states sampled from the non-equilibrium system of cell d
ifferentiation provide adequate information for reconstruction of the fu
ll dynamical process? What other information are we still missing for th
is purpose? In my talk I will give an overview of existing approaches to
this question covering our contribution on reconstruction of “diffusion
pseudotime”.\n\nTo subscribe to the mailing list for this event series\
