DESCRIPTION:The Doubleday Centre for Patient Experience welcomes\, Double
 day Ambassador\, Dr Habib Naqvi MBE FFPH to speak at its next Conversati
 on Series event on 10 April.\n\nDr Naqvi is Chief Executive of the NHS R
 ace and Health Observatory in the UK\, which works to identify and tackl
 e ethnic inequalities in health and care by facilitating research\, maki
 ng health policy recommendations and enabling long-term transformational
  change.\n\nHabib joined the English National Health Service in 2001\, m
 anaging large public health research programmes in the South West of Eng
 land. He spent a number of years working at the Department of Health and
  Social Care where he led national equality and diversity policy\, inclu
 ding on the health sector’s response to the UK government’s review of th
 e Public Sector Equality Duty. \n\nFrom 2013\, Habib directed the develo
 pment and implementation of national health equity programmes for the NH
 S workforce\, patients and communities. Habib has spoken and written wid
 ely on health equity and has given evidence to the UK’s House of Commons
  Health and Social Care Committee.\n\nHabib was awarded an MBE in the 20
 19 Queen’s Birthday Honours for services to equality and diversity in th
 e NHS\, he received a fellowship through distinction at the Faculty of P
 ublic Health in 2023 and is listed in the Health Service Journal’s ‘100
