The event, “Brexit on the Brink: from uncertainty to cooperation?” will focus on the most relevant issues pertaining to the exit of the United Kingdom from the European Union and the support that European citizens in the UK will receive from the European Commission. The event will also aim to inform the audience of contingency plans that EU27 governments have put in place. We hope that a collaborative event of this nature would provide a great opportunity to shed light on many critical issues facing EU citizens in the UK in general.
Speakers include Mr Guillaume Bazard (Consul General of France), Dr Hans-Günter Löffler (Consul General of Germany) and Ms Caroline Morgan (Senior Political Analyst at the European Commission). Prof Dimitris Papadimitriou, (Professor of Politics UoM and Director of the JMCE Manchester) will moderate the event.
The event is organised by "the3million" and "Settled" with the support of the Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence (JMCE). The format for this event, which will last approximately 90 minutes, is for the guest speakers to engage in a discussion with Prof Papadimitriou. In the first half, the speakers will be asked questions followed by 45 minutes of questions and answers with the audience.
The event is free and open to all however, we ask that you register on the Eventbrite page here: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/brexit-on-the-brink-from-uncertainty-to-cooperation-tickets-60925352369
