and so this weeks seminar has been changed. Nick Crossley has kindly agr
eed to step in.\n\n\nThe Social Structure of Punk in North-West England\
n\nIn this presentation I take a preliminary look at a network of punk g
igs in Liverpool and Manchester\, linked by the bands who played at them
and the promoters who organised them. The aim of the analysis is to ide
ntify the structure of this 'music world' and\, more specifically\, to c
onsider the impact of location (both city and venue) and time upon that
structure. On a methodological level the presentation will preview a nov
el 'dual projection' approach to the analysis of cohesive subgroups.
