Do you engage people beyond the university in your research and related processes? Maybe you would like to but you’re not sure where to start. Or perhaps you are a member of the public or community partner who is involved in research at the University of Manchester.
In this shared practice session, we’ll explore the diversity of co-produced, collaborative and participatory research across the university. Whatever your interest or experience, we would love you to join us for an afternoon of presentations and dialogue. We’ll discuss a wide range of approaches, principles, useful tips and resources.
The programme will include a series of lightning talks that share learning from a range of recent projects:
Local Matters: a new research approach to understanding - and responding to - poverty in schools.
PEAs (Public Engagement Ambassadors) in Pods: a project that aims to empower the Greater Manchester data science and artificial intelligence (AI) research communities to engage meaningfully with traditionally marginalised communities.
Integrated Diagnostics for the Early Detection of Liver Disease (ID-LIVER): a project where patients and the public were involved in developing new community approaches to enable earlier diagnosis of liver disease.
