DESCRIPTION:Engagement@Manchester runs a series of lunchtime meetings exp
 loring different aspects of public engagement. All university staff and 
 students are welcome to attend and find out more.\n\nYou will have the o
 pportunity to find out about the vast range of different ways in which o
 ur institution works with schools and young people\; hear 3 case studies
  from colleagues from across the University\, and have the chance to net
 work with other staff and students interested in this aspect of public e
 ngagement to explore how you can take ideas forward.  The speakers are:\
 n\nStephanie Lee\, Undergraduate Recruitment and Widening Participation 
 Manager -\nStephanie will give an insight into the wide range of activit
 ies coordinated by the central Undergraduate Recruitment and widening pa
 rticipation team working with schools\, colleges and young people both l
 ocally and nationally - and give examples of how staff and students from
  academic schools can get involved.\n\nSarah Kerton\, Access Coordinator
 \, University of Manchester Students’ Union -\nSarah will explore how th
 e Students’ Union empowers students at Manchester to run and develop the
 ir own projects with young people in the local community\, through Stude
 nt Action\, Access All Areas and 250+ student-led societies.\n\nDr Karen
  Lander\, Senior Lecturer\, School of Psychological Sciences -\nKaren wi
 ll be speaking about the School of Psychological Sciences Outreach Group
  – which is a mix of Academic Staff\, Post Docs and Students who are all
  involved with the organisation and delivery of a variety of events enga
 ging young people\; including the Success4Life Project\, Big Brain Summe
 r School and “What do Psychological Scientists do?!”.\n\nWe hope you’re
