Title: Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare with Applications in Eye Diseases and Beyond
Abstract: The rise of artificial intelligence (AI) in the recent years has shown great potentials in various healthcare applications and there is great optimism that AI will transform healthcare. In this presentation I will briefly introduce the history and development of artificial intelligence. I will then showcase some advancements of AI techniques in terms of segmentation, registration, diagnostic and prognostic modelling and healthcare applications in eye diseases, cardiovascular diseases etc. I will discuss profound challenges and issues faced by AI and conclude the presentation with future directions.
