Over the past 20 years Manchester Museum at The University of Manchester has been pioneering new ways to help conserve some of the rarest amphibians on the planet. Through establishing captive breeding programmes, student education, innovative public engagement activities, and community collaborations in Costa Rica and Panama, the University of Manchester has become an international flagship for amphibian conservation.
In their lecture Professor Amanda Bamford and Andrew Gray will talk about their international work, creating unique opportunities for teaching, conservation, and multi-disciplined research that has even included the recognition of new species to science.
