DESCRIPTION:The next 'LGBT Foundation proudly presents...' evening soiree
  is entitled 'ChemSex: what do clinicians need to know?'. This will take
  place in the Stopford Building on Wednesday 21 November\, commencing 6.
 00pm\n\nThe presentation builds on the partnership between the Division 
 of Medical Education and the LGBT Foundation\, which aims to make our ed
 ucational programme more LGBT affirmative.\n\nFurther events will follow
  throughout the academic year and will continue to explore the health ne
 eds that can sometimes face our LGBT communities.\n\nChemSex is a term t
 hat is used when people are having sex\, which involves using one or mor
 e of three specific drugs (chems) in any combination. People take part i
 n ChemSex for a number of different reasons and the practice is on the i
 ncrease in the UK\, particularly amongst gay and bisexual men. \n\nTyler
  Andrew and Peter Bampton from the LGBT Foundation will speak about the 
 practice\, its potential risks and what makes people do it. They will al
 so bring along two people with personal experience to discuss ChemSex fr
 om their perspective\, what makes it appealing to gay and bi men in part
 icular and how they turned their own lives around.
