DESCRIPTION:Employer sanctions\, in the form of raids on businesses thoug
 ht to be employing people who do not have permission to work in the UK a
 nd fines for those businesses found to be employing workers without perm
 ission to work or in breach of visa stipulations are used as a method of
  in-border migration control. \n\nDrawing on qualitative interviews with
  undocumented migrants and ethnic enclave employers in London\, the pape
 r will examine the impact of sanctions from the perspectives of those wh
 o have been or are most likely to be affected. More specifically\, the p
 aper will explore individual experiences of\, and strategies against\, i
 mmigration enforcement raids\, the effect of raids on the labour market\
 , conditions of work and more widely\, on local community relations.
