 gy at the University of Manchester. Inaugurated in 1976\, the lecture is
  an annual event in which a leading theologian speaks on a topic of thei

 hat goes on springing surprises. The lecture will seek an approach to su
 rprise for the twenty-first century\, proposing a spirituality and ethic
  of wisdom-seeking and daring improvisation.
