DESCRIPTION:Join Creative Manchester for a half-day of creative workshops
  exploring arts-based methods in participatory research. This afternoon 
 event will feature interactive workshops delivered by Cartwheel Arts and
  Made by Mortals\, as well as a panel discussion on the subject of creat
 ive participatory research\, featuring organisational leaders\, freelanc
 e artists\, and academics.\n\nDiscussion will include:\n- How can arts-b
 ased research methods offer space for conversation\, collaboration\, and
  connection?\n- What are some of the rewards\, and challenges\, of worki
 ng in creative participatory projects?\n- How can we facilitate meaningf
 ul co-production?\n- How can we address issues of accessibility\, inclus
 ion\, and equity of voice within participatory research?\nThis event is 
 run by Creative Manchester\, and supported by the Participatory Research
  Fund. A vegan lunch will be served upon arrival.\n\nMade by Mortals Wor
 kshop:\n“Made By Mortals workshop will be an interactive guide through o
 ur approach and theory of change using an abridged version of our latest
  audio workshop STUCK as an exemplar. The workshop will explore:\n· How 
 we use participatory arts and the principles of coproduction to overcome
  some of the barriers and challenges underrepresented communities experi
 ence through ‘traditional’ research processes.\n· How and why we use fic
 tional characters\, co-creation techniques\, and centre lived experience
  knowledge alongside other capacities such as imagination\, care\, and h
 umour in our work.\n· How and why we make the work participatory and imm
 ersive in the way it is made and in the way it is consumed and how that 
 process brings about change and supports the mobilisation of research fi
 ndings.\n· How we have brought about real-world change\, including the p
 ersonal development of the marginalised communities and researchers invo
 lved\, as well as system and behavioural change within health and care p
 ractice\, strategy\, and policy.”\n\nCartwheel Arts Workshop:\nArts & We

 session exploring their approach to delivering high quality participator
 y arts activities alongside robust mental health support with diverse co
 mmunities in Rochdale and beyond.\n\nTickets\nThis event is free (ticket
 ed) and open to anyone interested in artistic methods\, co-production\, 
 participatory and community-engaged research practices.\n\nAbout the con
