DESCRIPTION:\n\nThe Extended Project is a single piece of work of a stude
 nt's choosing that requires evidence of planning\, preparation\, researc
 h and independent learning. It is available as a stand-alone qualificati
 on for A-level students and forms part of the Diploma.\n\nDates have bee
 n scheduled throughout the year where teachers can bring groups of stude
 nts onto campus. These visits can include a research skills workshop\, a
  library visit or both.\n\nThe Research Skills Workshop is led by staff 
 and postgraduate students from the University. The workshop introduces s
 tudents to academic research through a series of interactive activities 
 and group work. The library session is led by library staff and gives st
 udents an introduction to locating materials – both books and online res
 ources – for their assignments. Afterwards\, students have independent r
 esearch time where they can make use of the extensive resources the libr
 ary has to offer.\n
