DESCRIPTION:Greater Manchester has an amazing legacy of alternative and c
 ommunity newspapers from the 1970s — offering us a window into the every
 day issues\, groups\, places\, events and organising efforts of the time
  — yet they are often overlooked or rarely known about today. Many have 
 limited or almost no online presence making them hard to access or disco
 ver. Join us to learn more!\n\nAs part of the People's Papers research p
 roject with the Working Class Movement Library\, this event will provide
  a space to revisit the 1970s alternative and community newspapers of Gr
 eater Manchester and their associated urban histories and activism. PhD 
 researcher Arielle Lawson (@peoplespapers) will share an introduction to
  and overview of the research and what she's found in the archives so fa
 r. Then we'll have roundtable discussion to hear from those who were dir
 ectly involved to better contextualize these papers and reflect on their
  own experiences of this time period.\n\nWe also hope to encourage a liv
 ely and participatory discussion with the audience\, so please bring you
 r own questions and reflections to share!\n\n---\n\nThis event is organi

 oring the Working Class Movement Library's collection of Greater Manches
