DESCRIPTION:History guest speaker research seminar.\n\nAt the end of the 
 First World War\, the peacemakers placed a small number of territories i
 n Europe under the direct international administration of the League of 
 Nations. These areas\, along with later zones created outside Europe\, w
 ere considered too difficult to weave into a new world order of nation-s
 tates and mandates\, and for decades\, they were subject to uncertainty 
 about their future. This talk zooms in on daily life in international zo
 nes. It explores the imperial continuities which characterised them\, as
  well as the unintended consequences created by making societies wait fo
 r clarification about their political futures.
