DESCRIPTION:6.30-9.30pm. After Hours are evening social events where you 
 encounter the unexpected. Artists\, scientists\, filmmakers\, writers an
 d musicians animate our collections in special one-off performances. Thi
 s month the theme is ancient worlds\, with Arabic music and dance\, torc
 hlight tours of the Ancient Egypt gallery and mini-mummy talks. \n\n6.30
 -7pm: Egyptian Dance by Samara\, accompanied by an Egyptian Percussionis
 t. Described by the Raqs Britannia website as one of the UK’s best-kept 
 secrets\, Samara\, who is of North African descent\, is a professional A
 rabic dancer specialising in the Egyptian Saaidi and Baladi styles.  \n\
 n7.30 & 8.30pm: Awad Absin performs with the Egyptian Oud. Sudanese musi
 cian\, Awad Absin\, started his musical journey at four years old when h
 e began making drums out of milk tins\, pots and sauce pans. \nAwad hone
 d his oud skills with the help of masters such as Ali Hassan (Iraq) and 
 Nizar Rohana (Palestine). \n\n8 & 9pm: Kalia\, a nay (Arabic flute) play
 er and singer\, specialising in music from the Eastern Mediterranean and
  Middle East.\n\n7.15 & 8.45pm:  Ancient Egypt by torchlight - Mummies\,
  monuments… and mystery! Join Curator Campbell Price for a last chance t
 o see the highlights from the current Ancient Egyptian Afterlife gallery
  before it closes for redevelopment at the end of February.\n\nAfter Hou
