DESCRIPTION:“Full of truth and beauty\, really brave. My mum kept on poki
ng me--you've given her a lot of ammo!” Riz Ahmed\n\n“Insightful\, charm
ing and funny.” Lenny Henry\n\nEvening Conversations is a warm-hearted\,
autobiographical drama by acclaimed actor-writer Sudha Bhuchar. This on
e-woman show explores the complexities of British-Asian identity\, drawi
ng on Sudha’s own family experiences as a middle class\, middle aged\, m
ulticultural mother of millennial sons.\n\nShaped by Sudha’s cross-conti
nental childhood\, a far cry from her sons’ up-bringing in leafy Wimbled
on\, London\, Evening Conversations is a gentle\, humorous and truthful
70 minutes of storytelling. Sudha invites her boys to ‘crack open a cold
one’ and share their views on life. Shots are fired in the rapid\, bant
er-filled exchanges between mother and sons.\n\nEvening Conversations lo
oks at our tendency to re-evaluate our lives as we grow older and the co
mplexities of identity and difference through the experiences we share.
It’s a wry and affectionate look at the differences dividing us from our
parents and children’s generations.\n\n\nRecent reviews for Evening Con
versations at this summer’s Edinburgh Festival Fringe:\n\nAsian Culture
Vulture: ***** (five stars): “SUDHA BHUCHAR’S autobiographical one-woman
show is at turns bitter-sweet\, wryly humorous\, and thought-provoking
... you will leave the theatre thoughtful and smiling\, wiser certainly\
, but also entertained by an actor who has been so integral to the histo
ry of British Asian theatre and its audience.”\n\nWest End Best Friend:
**** (four stars): "A beautiful and honestly told story of how each gene
ration’s struggle paves the way for the next -- something that all ages
and backgrounds can relate to in their own way... Bhuchar is a captivati
 ng storyteller."\n\n\nAbout Sudha Bhuchar:\n\nSudha is an award-winning
