  spaces of the Whitworth have been emptied of their art and design. No p
 art of the collection is on display\, giving all the galleries over to t
 he making and experiencing of performance art. Each day the exhibition w
 ill begin with an hour-long performance initiation by Marina Abramovi? l
 eading up to a series of encounters between artists and audience. Provoc
 ative and visceral in its intent\, this exhibition demands much from its
