Introduction to Astrophotography
Introduction to Astrophotography
Wednesdays 23rd October, 20th November, 15th January and 26th February, 7.30pm – 10pm
Jodrell Bank's popular Introduction to Astrophotography workshops are returning this winter with four new dates to choose from.
Join us at one of our informal and fun sessions that include an introductory workshop presented by Jodrell Bank Observatory’s Dr. Ant Holloway, along with a chance for you to try out your equipment and talk to our knowledgeable team.
You’ll learn how to apply your DSLR or Compact System Camera to get started in Astrophotography. You’ll also discover how you can use simple equipment such as a tripod, to capture different images of the night sky, from planets and constellations to the colours of stars and star trails. There’ll be a chance too, to look at additional equipment you can use to expand the range of images you take.
Tea and coffee will be provided and, in the case of cloudy skies, you will still be able to try out your equipment in our Inflatable Planetarium. Your session will be followed up with links to online resources and further information.
Introduction to Astrophotography is a single event, and there are four dates to choose from. Please remember that you do need a good understanding of how to use your own camera before you arrive at the workshop.
