Abstract:
Social connections play an important role in health and well-being across the life course. As individuals age, they experience a number of changes to their social networks due to life events such as retirement, children moving away, widowhood and so on. This talk will focus on two aspects of social connections, namely social isolation and loneliness, among older adults in England. The talk will focus on prevalence of isolation and loneliness in older adults, risk factors and associations with health’.
