DESCRIPTION:Please join us for the launch of a new report that raises urg
 ent questions about racial \nattitudes\, procedures and practices in the
  English and Welsh justice system focusing \non judicial office holders.
    \n\nIn 2020 the Lord Chief Justice launched the Judicial Diversity & 
 Inclusion Strategy at a \ntime of raised public concern about the treatm
 ent of Black and other ethnic minority \npeople in the justice system. T
 his report assesses the terms of the strategy and draws \non findings fr
 om a new survey of legal professionals. \n   \nResearchers found a profo
 und disparity between the conclusions of the 5-year strategy \nthat the 
 justice system is basically fair and that there has been progress in div
 ersity and \ninclusion versus the widespread views and experiences of th
 e legal professionals \nsurveyed that racial bias plays a significant ro
 le in the justice system.\n\nDuring this 90-minute session\, we will sha
 re our findings and welcome feedback \nfrom the audience   \n\nSpeakers
