The advantages of eSurveys over their paper and pen predecessors like cost and coverage come typically first to mind, however there are potential downsides as well; Choices of technology and delivery for example, or the subtler biases that can be introduced by the eSurvey design.
This ½ day workshop is for University of Manchester staff and researchers from all schools and disciplines who have experience of or have a desire to use electronic survey software in the course of their research or teaching.
The aim of the forum is to create a vision of an eSurvey infrastructure and set of software tools which will facilitate and simplify the use of eSurvey software for research at UoM.
The format of the session will be a series of short presentations followed by discussion time on the various topics.
Topics so far are:
• Types of eSurveys
• Commercially available and Open source eSurvey software
• Sample selection issues related to eSurveys
• Design issues for eSurveys
• Delivery modes for eSurveys
• Technology and approaches to data collection
If you would like to make your own lightning talk on your pet concern or real-life experience on any of these or on your own related topic, time will be found to include you!
