Title: Modelling UV avoidance circuit in a marine annelid, Platynereis dumerili.
Abstract:
I'll talk about the development and analysis of a mechanistic model of a new circuit mechanism for UV/light-avoidance behavior in a free-swimming larva of marine segmented worm, Platynereis dumerilii. After introducing the model, I'll describe how we:
1. fitted the model to data (genetic algorithms),
2. analysed model variability (using individual collected datasets),
3. performed local and global sensitivity analysis (using Sobol indices, SALib - python library),
4. analysed observability and structural local identifiability, (Strike-Goldd/ AutoRepar - Matlab toolboxes).
Finally, I'll present results of experimental validation of the model predictions. More generally, the talk will present an overview of techniques for data-driven mathematical modelling.
