This is a course on the FBMH Academic Development Programme, welcome to all colleagues within the Faculty.
This session will introduce participants to the key principles of Team-Based Learning and explore how it can be used to increase student engagement and improve learning outcomes. We’ll look at what makes TBL successful, where it can be challenging, and what best practice looks like in real-world settings. Participants will also gain practical insight into using LAMs to design and run TBL sessions effectively, as well as how to use its data to identify students who may need additional support.
Intended Learning Outcomes
- Demonstrate an understanding of TBL principles and their impact on student engagement and learning.
- Identify what constitutes best practice for implementation/facilitation and explain how this is integral to TBL
- Explain how LAMs (Learning Activity Management System) can be used to design and deliver TBL sessions effectively.
- Describe how LAMS' data visualisation features can help improve teaching materials and identify students who may require academic intervention.
