Abstract: This talk surveys ray transforms in tomography, starting from the classical X-ray (Radon) transform and its geodesic generalization on Riemannian manifolds. We then discuss attenuated models with scalar and matrix weights, followed by nonabelian ray transforms. A unifying framework is provided by matrix-weighted double-fibration transforms, which enable microlocal analysis and injectivity results. We conclude with recent theorems establishing local and global uniqueness for matrix-weighted and nonabelian ray transforms under analytic and geometric conditions.
